Choosing the Perfect Wedding Music

Ask yourself "what is my wedding theme?"

When it is time to create the musical atmosphere that will put a unique signature on your  wedding day, you want to do so carefully. Having the appropriate sound for the occasion is your number one asset. Music connects people to memories. You see, the color scheme of your decoration, the venue you choose, the bouquet , the tuxedos and wedding gown speak about your style and preference. But the music you choose, embraces your wedding theme and gives it life. Ask yourself, "what is my wedding theme"?  Whether you are leaning towards a traditional ceremony or a modern exchange of rings, often the very first impression your guests will have of your big day will be based on the music they hear.

Music Styles to choose from

Classical Music

Classical music lives through the times  and typically works for every wedding setting and venue . It adds a lot of elegance and  an additional  touch of class.  It sounds unique and adequate  in traditional  wedding venues such as churches and cathedrals. It sounds also appropriate in outdoor garden weddings. Yet, it sounds perfectly suitable to a beach weddings just as well. You pretty much cannot go wrong with classical music for your wedding!

Romantic Contemporary Songs

Nowadays, many couples are choosing a musical  vibe that is  personal to their love story and has a special meaning in their relationship. There are a number of romantic songs that will symbolize their love and personality more than any classical music would do for them. If that is your case, go for it without any reservertions. It is your day. The music needs to be what is important to you!

Religious Songs

A marriage commitment  may  be  honored by religious songs. There are several romantic  religious hymns and music that can acknowledge your faith and highlight it to your guests as you walk down the isle. Religious songs can also be played exclusively during any religious tradition during your ceremony, such as the lighting of the candles,  the breaking of a wine glass, or the exchange of the rings, for example.

A combination of all three

And who said you could not mix music styles? Exactly! It is your day. So you basically can do whatever you want! And Luis G. Violinist is here to help you.  Feel free to use different music styles for different parts of your wedding. By creating a sequence that transitions well , you're up for a completely custom made musical performance that your guests will enjoy  and you will love!

Important tips:

  • Make sure you review if your wedding venue has any  restriction in regards to what type of  music cannot played.  Some religious institutions have strict guidelines about music.
  • If you would like sound amplification, ensure there will be electrical outlets available near where you want the musician (s) to stand.
  • Select your music ensemble according to your budget. Sometimes, having an orchestra is not realistic for your budget, so stick to a good quality music performance without sacrificing your wallet. Luis G. Violinist will not disappoint.

The wedding ceremony program

Prelude

Before your wedding ceremony start, guests will arrive. Plan to have  live music playing so your guests are not greeted in silence. As the people you have invited enter and takes their seats, offer them a welcoming atmosphere of intimacy and entertainment.  (Hint: this is also a smart idea for taking away the awkwardness of guests who do not know each other just sitting staring at the air, and  those who do know each other talking  too loud as they wait for the ceremony to begin.  Hint: it also buys you some time in case your are running a bit late.). Prelude music usually is about 20-30minutes.

Processional

Luís G. will serenade for the groom, the couple’s family, and the wedding party (ushers, bridesmaids, flower girl, ring bearer) are walking down the aisle.

Hint: for the last person walking down the aisle before the bride,  choose a song  that  is less dynamic than the bridal entrance song. You want to have the biggest impact when the bride comes in. Also take into consideration how long is the aisle and how many people will be in your wedding party. If only a few people and the walk way is short, using the same song for a few entrances may be better.

Grand Entrance

Here is the moment you , the groom and all the guests have waited for! As the bride walks down the aisle, every eye upon her, the groom looking at her dumbfounded , and her heart about to jump out of her mouth... imagine the sounds of Luis G. Violinist to wrap up this moment with perfection!  A violin  tune can set the tone for the magical moment that the bride and groom meet each other to walk side by side to the altar. This  feeling of happiness and love  will imprint it in your memory forever. You may choose your own contemporary song, or have Luis play the timeless traditional wedding songs. Personalizing the bridal entrance with a unique performance is Luis G.'s  greatest talent.

Recessional

As an officially married couple walking down the aisle, the song you choose can be lively and upbeat and can be a great lead in for the celebrations to follow. Or it can be slow and mellow, as you see the face of every guest smiling proudly at you. The recession finishes after every member of your bridal party has walked out of the ceremony setting.

Postlude

Now that the ceremony has finished, the guests are leaving  the venue. If the reception is where the ceremony took place, your guests won't be leaving, but this may be the time you take some pictures. Just as in the prelude, do not allow your guests to be in a  silent room. A concluding piece of music is polite and kind to the ears. It creates a nice transitional flow into the next part of your wedding and it officially  closes the ceremony. Furthermore, it serenades your very first photography session as a married couple.

The wedding reception

Cocktail hour

As you take the time to get some more photographs taken, your guests will be delighted to be serenated to during the cocktail hour. As a wedding ceremony has its prelude, so does the reception. Here your guests will maybe be eating some Hor D'ouvres and finding their seats. Once everyone is seated, Luis G. Violinist will continue to play until the wedding party and couple are announced into the reception room.

First Dance

For your first dance as a married couple, you have the freedom to pick any song that best suits your personality. Luis G. Violinist will serenade you with music from any genre, from a slow and romantic ballad  to a bubbly and vivacious pop song. Invite your guests to watch you both as you waltz your heart and feet away on the dance floor.
